So I picked up a 95 S14 last week and the doc finally cleared me to be able to start working on it. (Had a tonsillectomy the other week.) The car has just over 130K. The previous owner attempted to repaint it and didnt do that great of a job. They tried to buff it and chewed the paint in a couple of places. When they put lights and stuff back in it after the paint they left half of the screws out and broke both corners. When I bought it the previous owner had wrecked it. Also the hood on it is destroyed with some holes in it of unknown origin. The fiberglass sunroof trim was broken as well as the radio trim piece. With the negative said the interior is pretty clean. Its a good base to start out with.

The Damage

Engine

Found a parts car the other day and got a bumper sidemarker and a fender. Some idiot put a sidemarker in the side of the fender so we fiberglassed over the wholes. Came out pretty nice. I bondoed the holes in the hood also. This weekend we sprayed the fender, hood, and spoiler. It came out alright. Im planning on a new paint job this summer. Ill get new pics up tomorrow of the progress.

i think i paid a little much for it but oh well. unfortunately i didnt find some of the problems til i started tearing into it. He big thing I was pissed about is when he changed the distibutor he took pliers to one of the connectors and crushed it.

Hey man that thing is coming together! Gotta give dad props too! My dad is too old to help me out with the project cars that come through my garage now but he still supervises if you know what I mean. Its way cool that your dad is out there with you working on your car....im jealous!

Sssshh! Dont let the moderator on here know you fiberglassed over the holes where the side marker lights were. I got a text lashing for filling some holes in my friends trunk where the old spoiler used to be. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/004_ermm.gif) Hes gonna say you should have welded them up to avoid being ghetto...or was it incompetent?

Man that looks 100 times better already!

I hate when you buy cars from people who dont know what the F**k they are doing! Ends up being $500 in little things to fix that you normally would not even have to worry about!

Sorry I couldnt give you hand this weekend. Had to work due to Auto Fair.

let me know when you need a hand.

Yea....the half naked guy is my personal gardener Hans.....nah, I had a couple buddies over working on their motorcycles and for some reason he hopped in the pic. The previous owner painted the car and it turned out to be about a 20 ft. paint job. It looks decent from a distance but when you get up on it, its cruddy. Just a bad job of taping and they sprayed to much paint on it. Also, after it was painted, the new paint, was destroyed with a buffer. So my next goal is to have the entire car resprayed which will probably be in June. Ive gotta get a new hood first as the one on it is no bueno. Ive also gotta address the suspension. The previous owner put ebay springs on the stock struts. :( Ill update the thread she progresses.....

both, actually.
you also never said what it was, just that you had 'glassed over plenty of stuff on quite a few cars.

I plan spot welding the small place on the fender when i paint the car. for now the fiberglass works fine and you cant even tell it by looking at it

Those MB look nice on the computer but in reall life look like ass in my opinion as the spokes stick out some.I would look at MB battles or wait and i could get some niced sized Rota wheels in a group buy. There is also Enkei RP's,china mustangs and bunch others if you have more money.

its still up for sale....but im thinkin i may keep it. the only reason i was goin to sell is to get a car that is further along (as far as mods go). but instead i think im going to be patient and build it myself. i thought about the mb battles bought dont really care for the way they look. i wanted some d2's but they do not clear z brakes. ive got around $500 to spend on wheels...
